We wanted to try the first pizza, Lombardi's, on a Friday night. We were driving and no one said don't go into New York City on a Friday. We go within two blocks of the restaurant and all the streets were blocked for a festival. After driving around in circles trying to find parking my husband let me out and I walked to the place to pick up our order to go. Meanwhile, he kept driving in traffic. I met up with him and put the pizza in the back. We headed back to our hotel which was on the other side of the Holland tunnel, only five miles away. It took us four hours to go the five miles!
We were seriously thinking we would never get back. The traffic was horrible and our pizza was cold by the time we go to the hotel and needless to say it wasn't that tasty. Now we look back and laugh at being so silly driving in New York City.
